OpenAI has had a new feature, GPT Builder, since Nov. 7, 2023. It allows you to build your own GPT without having to write code. This makes it possible for anyone to quickly set up your own chatbot. You can do a lot with it and on day 1 the number of new apps with fat applications shot up like mushrooms. What is so unique about this?
GPT Builder can start leading to a multi-billion app boom as it can change the interaction with generative AI. Why? You can easily build your own app just by chatting, so there is no code involved. Click here for several interesting examples already built using the GPT Builder. From coffee critic, voting guide GPT to a running buddy communityThere was no possibility to link your web browser to your GPT, this is now possible. Very interesting because this makes it a tangible application faster than just a chatbot.

Is it as fantastic as it seems?
Of course at first glance it all seems great, but to test this I, Reinier (data scientist at DSL) took the test and tried to build a GPT myself. I am happy to take you through my findings.

Own current GPT: RijmGPieT
Now so close to St. Nicholas, most people are starting to get a little more excited ‘the St. Nicholas poems stress’ strikes. Before you know it you end up with ‘Saint was thinking…’ again. Not this year, and I’m going to help you with that. You see, I’ve built a Sinterklaas Poems GPT to help you write Sinterklaas poems called RijmGPieT.’

Setting up your own GPT does take quite some time but within 2 hours you will definitely have something up and running. I do think it works better than having the ‘standard’ chatGPT write your poem. Now that this RijmGPieT exists, I would like to help you on your way to your original Saint Nicholas poem. Try it out here and let me know what you think. *You need a plus account to use it.

Here you can already see what kind of poem our RhymeGPieT created for Data Science Lab.

Conclusion
It takes time to set up your GPT properly, but once it’s in place it works well and better than ChatGPT. The shift from coding to building an application with GPT Builder requires a lot of creativity, but you can see the results immediately. Prediction: so I expect super many applications to come out of it where you test the idea you’ve been walking around with for a while. You do need a ChatGPT Plus account à $20, which means not everyone can use your application for free. Is it worth the $20? Or will they soon make it accessible for free? Hhis alle questions that we to expectationfast answer will be given. Stay tuned! Are you curious what GPT Builder can do for your ideas or organization? We would be happy to come by and advise you.
