The goal-driven data solution
Crowding in the emergency department (ED) is a major challenge and affects care, workload and patient satisfaction. The goal of this project is to improve the flow in the ED by starting the admission process earlier. To achieve this, as part of the AI team at St. Antonius Hospital, developed an algorithm that can support St. Antonius Hospital physicians in deciding whether a patient can go home or should be admitted. By informing departments in time about a possible new admission, they can make earlier preparations and a patient can be transferred from the ER to the ward sooner.
