About the training

Who is this workshop for, and what will you get out of it?

AI offers opportunities, but it also raises questions within organisations: what are we allowed to do, what do we want to do, and where do we start? In this workshop, we bring policy and practice together.

You’ll leave with a shared understanding of responsible AI use, concrete guidelines for your organisation and an initial list of promising applications.

Key takeaways

01

AI basics for decision-makers. What AI can and cannot do, explained without jargon and with examples from your sector.

02

Frameworks and responsibility. Which rules and guidelines apply, and how do you turn them into practical agreements?

03

Spotting opportunities. Which processes in your organisation are suited to AI — and which are not.

04

From idea to first step. How to choose a promising application and start small, without a major upfront investment.

05

Concrete next steps. You’ll finish with agreed actions and an initial roadmap you can start working on Monday.

What will you learn?

The workshop alternates short theory sessions with exercises based on your day-to-day work. No slide marathon: we’ll work together to define what responsible AI use means for your organisation.

Frequently asked questions

The workshop is designed for municipal leaders, policy advisers, information managers, programme managers and those responsible for privacy or IT. We bring leadership, policy and operations together so everyone has a shared understanding of how to use AI and data.

The standard version takes half a day (around 3 hours). For municipalities that want to explore specific topics such as the AI Act, data governance or ethics in more depth, we also offer a full-day version.

The investment is €2,999 excluding VAT. This includes preparation, materials and a concise action plan with recommendations and next steps. If you start a follow-up project with DSL within 3 months, we will deduct part of this amount from its cost.

Yes, always. Every municipality has a different focus, from social services to spatial planning or information management. We adapt the content to your priorities and can include current projects or policy questions in the session.

By the end, you will have a clear action plan, concrete priorities and a shared understanding of how to use AI responsibly and practically in a municipal setting.
