Van Amersfoort Racing is a Dutch racing team active in the Formula 1 feeder series. Since 1975, it has helped young drivers work towards successful careers in motorsport. And with success: our own Max Verstappen developed as a driver under Frits van Amersfoort’s guidance. Finding drivers with that kind of talent is a challenge. Just as on the track, you want to stay one step ahead of the competition. That’s why we’re developing a smart tool together that lets Van Amersfoort Racing easily track and compare young drivers. Can our algorithm find the ‘next Max Verstappen’?
Our connection with Data Science Lab comes from Claudia, who did an internship at Van Amersfoort Racing several years ago. The results of her machine learning project left everyone impressed. When the time came to follow up on this idea we knew who to contact! We are very happy with our collaboration and confident this will be a very powerful tool in our search for talented young drivers.
