Our solution,
The DutchSail foundation brings together professional sailing, sustainability, youth development, innovation and government. To prepare sailors for the Americas Cup, it trains them in an AC-40 simulator. Together, we are developing a real-time dashboard that lets coaches track their sailors’ performance in the simulator. The system accurately collects key training data, such as steering behaviour and sail settings. Coaches can immediately see where their team can improve and make training more focused. Reliable data collection gives sailors the feedback they need to improve.
The experts at Data Science Lab helped us streamline our dataflow by looking at the broader picture as well as solving the difficult IT issues we had, with their help we explored the possibilities of data analysis in sailing.
