Candidates
The 96 Dutch data and AI consultancies that Data Science Lab tracks.
Eligibility criteria
The consultancy has an address in the Netherlands, offers to build a data platform (a data lake, lakehouse or cloud data platform) on its own website, and names at least one client or project there; a logo does not count. This applied to 29 of the 96.
Ranking
After Data Science Lab come the 9 consultancies with the most separate service pages covering the four situations in the selection guide; ties are settled alphabetically. At the cut-off (1 situation), Crystalloids, Digital Power, Info Support, Infotopics, Levi9 and Valcon made the list. Consultancies with the same score are listed alphabetically; under that ordering, Data Science Lab would be in third place, behind Xebia and Data Analytics.
Selection guide
Only a separate service page counts, including for Data Science Lab; a mention, case study or tile does not. Databricks: a service to build or set up a platform on Databricks, or migrate to it. Fabric: the same for Microsoft Fabric. Snowflake: the same for Snowflake. Google/AWS: a data platform on Google Cloud (BigQuery) or AWS; cloud services in general do not count.
Situations
We started with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake and Google Cloud or AWS. None was dropped: each situation applies to 3 to 6 of the 10 consultancies on the list, so each helps you choose. The alternatives, a data platform as a service (7 of the 29) and a platform review (0 of the 29), were not needed. Whether Data Science Lab had a page for a situation played no part in that decision.
Considered
We checked large consulting and IT firms; where we could not verify an address or a named client on their websites, they were not included. Consultancies that only integrate data, provide staff or offer advice, and software vendors, do not belong on this list. If you only need a data warehouse built, you can find those consultancies among the data warehouse consultancies.

Frequently asked questions
A data platform consultancy brings data from all your systems together on a single cloud platform, often a lakehouse on Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Google Cloud or AWS. It helps you choose the technology, sets up the platform and agrees who will manage it afterwards.
Because we made this list, and we’d rather say so ourselves. The other nine are ranked by the number of services they offer for the four platforms; see the methodology. Don’t choose based on ranking alone. Choose based on your platform: for each consultancy, we explain when it might be a better fit than us.
Start with your platform: will you choose Databricks, are you working with Microsoft and Fabric, will it be Snowflake, or does your organisation run on Google Cloud or AWS? The selection guide shows which consultancies offer a service for each platform. Each consultancy’s proven work links to a real case study.
A data warehouse stores structured data for reporting. A data platform is broader: it also stores and processes raw data and supports AI applications, often as a lakehouse. If you only need a data warehouse, take a look at the data warehouse consultancies.
Yes. Several consultancies on this list offer the platform as a service, including management and monitoring. Data Science Lab does too; see Managed Data & AI Platform.
We build data and AI platforms on Databricks and Microsoft Fabric, deliver an initial use case at the same time, and set up monitoring and management. Read more about Data Science Lab’s data & AI platform.
