Data Engineer job opening. As a Data Engineer at Data Science Lab, you'll work on data engineering for different organisations.
You develop end-to-end data solutions and build a solid data infrastructure in the cloud.
As a Data Engineer at Data Science Lab, you work on challenging data projects alongside data scientists and data strategy consultants. You develop end-to-end data solutions and build a solid data infrastructure in the cloud, which is essential for BI, machine learning and AI applications. You are responsible for building and maintaining ETL pipelines and configuring cloud services using DevOps principles. We use an innovative approach to set up data platforms quickly, drawing on technologies such as Azure, Databricks, DBT and Terraform.
About you
You are keenly interested in our field. You also take initiative and enjoy taking on projects. We also think it is important that you have:
At least 3 years (mid-level) or 6 years (senior) of demonstrable experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
Experience programming in Python/PySpark and writing database queries in SQL.
Experience with version control (preferably Git).
Experience making data accessible and integrating it via, for example, APIs (REST/GraphQL), message queues and other data sources.
Experience designing, building and optimising robust, scalable data pipelines for both batch and streaming data.
Experience with data warehouse and data lake architectures and data modelling (Inmon, Kimball, data vault). You can develop scalable, well-structured data models that meet business needs.
Experience with at least one modern cloud data platform: Databricks, Snowflake and/or Microsoft Azure data services (Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse).
Demonstrable experience with at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP).
Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
Experience applying best practices in data security and privacy.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Bicep) is an advantage.
Good command of Dutch, both written and spoken.
