From Utrecht, ilionx works across digital strategy, cloud, data & AI and managed services, among other areas. It builds data platforms, sets up data governance and monitors platforms 24/7 through managed analytics, with dedicated healthcare services. One client case study covers Intergamma’s Snowflake data platform.
Cloud Primero, based in Rotterdam, is a technology consultancy specialising in big data, cloud, AI and custom-built applications. Its data services include a data warehouse as a service, ETL and DataOps, and it supports cloud migrations. For ClickDrive, it built an app and a cloud data warehouse.

Based in Rotterdam, Crystalloids builds data and AI solutions on Google Cloud: enterprise data platforms, customer data platforms, migrations to Google Cloud and cloud managed services. Client stories on its website include ACSI, ANWB, AVROTROS and FD Media.
Infotopics, with offices in Oldenzaal and Houten, describes itself as a full-service data business partner. It builds data platforms using tools including Snowflake and Matillion, provides Tableau and Alteryx, and offers managed services and training. Its website says the team has more than 50 colleagues.
Xebia started in the Netherlands in 2001 and has grown into an international consultancy, software engineering and training company, with its Dutch office in Hilversum. For data, it builds cloud data platforms and provides data streaming and real-time analytics. It also optimises Databricks lakehouse costs.
Cmotions, with offices in Breda and Utrecht, works in data strategy, data engineering, data management, analytics and data science. It provides software such as TimeXtender and Qlik, supports the move from AFAS dashboards to Power BI and has its own academy. Its projects include Longfonds, Fabory and HDSR.

Levi9 was founded in Amsterdam in 2005 and has delivery centres in Serbia, Romania and Ukraine, among other countries. The 96 Dutch data and AI agencies that Data Science Lab tracks.
Eligibility criteria
An agency must have an address in the Netherlands, offer data engineering, data platforms, a data warehouse or data integration on its own website, and name at least one client or project there; a logo does not count. Of the 96 agencies, 38 met these criteria.
Ranking
After Data Science Lab come the 9 agencies with the most dedicated service pages for the four scenarios in the selection guide. Ties are broken first by the number of pages on a new platform and data quality, then alphabetically. At the cut-off (1 scenario), Cmotions (1), Datalab (2) and Levi9 (2) made the list; the numbers in brackets are their page counts for a new platform and data quality. inin, ITDS and Valcon (1) missed out on alphabetical order, while 3 other agencies had fewer. Within the list, agencies with the same score appear alphabetically; on that basis, Data Science Lab would rank fifth.
Selection guide
Only a dedicated service page counts, including for Data Science Lab; a mention, case study or tile does not. Management: management of the data platform (managed services for data, DataOps). Team: secondment, interim support or a temporary team of data professionals. Migration: migration of data, a data platform or a BI environment. Real-time: real-time data, streaming or event-driven processing.
Scenarios
We started with a first platform, management, strengthening a team and data quality. ‘Building a first data platform’ was dropped: 20 of the 38 eligible agencies have a page for it, including almost everyone in the top ten, so it does not help you choose. Data quality (16) was dropped for the same reason. ‘Moving to a new platform’ (9 of 38) and ‘Processing data in real time’ (3 of 38) took their place. The two scenarios covered by almost everyone decide ties. Whether Data Science Lab has a page for a scenario played no part in that choice.
Also considered
We checked large consultancy and IT firms; where we could not establish an address or a named client from their websites, they were not counted. Agencies that mainly offer AI, strategy or BI without data engineering, and software vendors, do not belong on this list.

A data engineering consultancy brings data from different systems together reliably in one place. It builds pipelines, a data warehouse or lakehouse, and quality checks. Good consultancies also agree who will monitor and update the platform after delivery.
