Data & AI for manufacturing

A factory records more data every day than it uses.

Machines, ERP systems, planning and quality control each produce their own data. It often sits in separate systems, so production, purchasing and service teams only see what happened after the fact. Data and AI bring these sources together, showing what is happening now and what is likely to happen next.

Challenges,

Lead times for parts are getting longer, a machine breaks down unexpectedly, and the schedule is adjusted by hand every day. At the same time, quality must remain demonstrable. That calls for information that goes beyond a report at the end of the month.

How we support you,

We bring machine data, ERP and planning together on one platform, then build models for maintenance, inventory and planning. For Fokker Services Group, we built a data platform and a maintenance planning solution. These are just a few examples of what is possible. The right solution always depends on the challenge and the organisation.

Frequently asked questions,

AI can combine historical production and maintenance records with current machine data to reveal anomalies sooner. This gives you better insight into the parts needed, planning and quality, so the factory can make adjustments before downtime occurs.

Start with one recurring, concrete problem, such as a part that arrives late or a machine that stops unexpectedly. By starting there and making the results visible on the factory floor, you can quickly see what data delivers and which step makes sense next.

Usually more than you might think: machine control systems, ERP, planning, quality measurements and maintenance records. Most of the work lies in bringing these sources together so they use a common language and are available in one place.

When a decision is currently based on experience or intuition and historical data is available: which parts to keep in stock, when maintenance is needed or how to adjust the schedule for an urgent order. A model supports that decision; the planner or technician remains in control.

By showing the results where planners, buyers and technicians already work, and agreeing in advance who will maintain the model as machines, suppliers or products change. A model that nobody manages quickly loses its value.
